Booking Accommodations in Nassau

Updated: Jul 17, 2019

Staying In Paradise

You’ve decided you’re going to the Bahamas! Now that you’ve made your decision, it’s time to look into flights and start booking your accommodations. Where you stay on your vacation is imperative to the entire vibe of your trip. From hotels to Airbnb’s island wide, there are many factors to consider when choosing your accommodations!

Location, location, location! Location is one of the most important factors to consider when choosing where you are staying. If you’re a party animal, you’ll want to be close to the happening areas, if you are looking for a serene escape, you will want to be secluded from the hustle and bustle of the city. Are you planning on renting a car or will you be walking? These are all important factors to consider when booking your accommodation!

Airbnb/VRBO

Vacation rentals have become extremely popular worldwide, and Nassau has been keeping up with the trend! If you’re coming with a larger group and or love to do some cooking on vacation, then Airbnb or VRBO is definitely the option for you! Vacation rentals are more affordable. They can be found all over the island and allow you to live more like a local, rather than being confined to your hotel and relying on someone else to cook for you during your vacay!

How do you know what kind of area you’re staying in? It’s simple. If you’re close to Baha Mar, Downtown or Atlantis, you will be closer to tourist attractions, nightclubs, restaurants and have access to taxis. If you are not staying near one of these areas, you will be more secluded, so renting a car is highly recommended!

Depending on your budget, you can most likely find a place on or close to the beach. When booking your vacation rental, I would use the “Map” feature to locate all the listings near the water. Whether you have a budget of $100 per night or $10,000 per night, there will be an option for you!

No need to stay at a yucky hotel or motel because of your budget, there are plenty of great affordable places for you to rent, and you’ll be supporting local Bahamians!

A helpful tip when booking an Airbnb, stay north and book near the water!

Here are a few great options on the water, for all sorts of budgets!

Under $150/night budget

Hotel Life

Who doesn’t love the hotel life, at least for a little while?! Hotels are great for the pure fact that your room is always clean, you have 24/7 concierge to assist you, and there is always something to do. It’s great to be wined and dined sometimes and not have to think about anything concerning household duties. If this is your vibe for your vacation, then staying in a hotel is the option for you.

We have many options for hotels in Nassau, from Big Hotels to Boutique hotels, from Luxury to All Inclusive, we have them all!

Luxury in Nassau, The Crème de la Crème- $800+ per night

The Four Seasons- Ocean Club

The Four Seasons brand is known worldwide to provide an exceptional experience when staying at one of their hotels, and this location is no different. Situated right on one of the most beautiful beaches in Nassau, your experience at the Four Seasons is sure to be amazing. From dining, to spa services, to décor and location, you will have your money’s worth at this beautiful hotel.

Rosewood Baha Mar

Rosewood is another name that will not disappoint. Their hotel is located in one of the Baha Mar towers and is by far the most luxurious. While staying at the Rosewood, you’ll have the high-end experience you’re looking for, while also having access to the fun and exciting life that Bahamar brings throughout their hotel.

Luxurious, but not breaking the bank- $400+ per night

The Cove at Atlantis

The Cove at Atlantis is what it is because of its pool. While staying at the Cove you have access to their poppin’ pool parties that everyone wants to be at. The Cove would be considered more of the “party” tower in Atlantis. Usually home to Bachelor & Bachelorette parties or groups of a younger age, this provides for a party atmosphere. It’s main selling point is access to its exclusive pool, while also having high end service  fine dining, and luxurious amenities throughout the tower.

SLS at Baha Mar

Similar to The Cove, SLS offers a party environment. With more luxurious rooms than the main tower and access to fun day parties at their pools. Great for large party groups or young adults.

Island House Boutique Hotel

A high-end boutique experience with great restaurants, an amazing spa, relaxing pool, cinema and wine shop on property. Staying at the Island House will most definitely be a quiet experience, you will hear the birds chirping and perhaps some light background music as you lay by the pool and sip your Rose. The rooms are great, each with a balcony and decorated Contemporary Island Chic. Best recommended for couples or singles looking to just fall off the grid and have a peaceful experience. There is not beach access here, so renting a car is recommended.

The Standard Hotel Experience- Families & Deals- Under $400 per night

If you’re looking for the Standard Hotel experience, great for not breaking the bank and accomodating families, then these are the options for you! Atlantis is better for kids, and Baha Mar is better for Adults. The Atlantis waterpark is unbeatable. It’s a truly enjoyable experience and the kids will never get bored! Baha Mar will be more of a Vegas experience. Nonstop fun, Nightclubs, Gambling, restaurants and people swarming the hotel. Atlantis also offers a great casino and Nightclub!

Beach, Coral, Reef & Royal Towers at Atlantis

Grand Hyatt at Baha Mar

All Inclusive, Eat, Drink & Sleep, as much as you want!

Sandals Resort- Couples Only- $700 per night

Warwick- Party People- $500 per night

Melia- Good for Families- $475

Breezes- Party People- $375

Riu- Party People - $300 per night

-Hilton $230 per night (on the beach)

-Holiday Inn $220 per night

-Courtyard Marriott $160 per night

My best advice is to choose your vibe, narrow down your budget and go from there. What you want your vacation to be like will help you decide where you should stay. Regardless of what you choose you are bound to have an amazing time in the Bahamas! Important things to remember when booking are stay by the beach, consider a rental car in your budget and be aware that food is expensive in the Bahamas. Whether you’re eating out or buying groceries, you will be paying almost double what you are normally used to!
