The Bahamas, boasting over 700 islands & cays (pronounced ‘keys’) and spreading across 760 miles of crystal blue water, has a little piece of paradise for anyone’s taste. Whether you are looking for luxury hotels, boutique hotels, mega resorts, or all-inclusive hotels, the Bahamas has you covered. Follow along for a deep dive into the best hotels in The Bahamas. You will certainly find something to fit your needs and rest assured it will be a relaxing and a beautiful experience in the Islands.
Before we dive in, it’s important to note that these hotels are not all on one island, the islands are spread out and each one offers its own vibe and culture. The best way to choose your hotel option is to choose the island vibe first, then the hotel. For example, if you are looking for nightlife and an array of restaurant experiences on your vacation, Nassau would be the island for you, as you won’t be finding that on the other islands. If you are looking for a more island feel, you can explore the Family Islands, which are the most beautiful in my opinion. It’s also important to consider transportation and flights to whichever island you choose, as certain islands are only accessible via private charter or boat, etc.
P.S. I’ve curated this list to my personal favorites, places I would want to stay in each category, there are plenty of other hotel options in the Bahamas. Let’s dive in!

The Island House
Nestled on the west side of Nassau, this hotel is just what you need when looking for simple luxury. The hotel is nicely decorated giving it a high-end feel. The luscious greenery all around the property provides for a very private experience. The Island house is a quiet hotel with a great pool. It is not situated on the beach; however, they give you access to one of the best private beaches in Nassau, located in Old Fort Bay Club. Of all the lovely things Island House has to offer, my favorite by far is their restaurant choices. There are 4 restaurants on the property, including the cutest bar you will ever see in your life. The food is delicious at all the restaurants, arguably some of the best restaurants in Nassau. If you are looking for convivence for food this is a great option, it’s also extremely peaceful but has a twist of energy when the locals come in to dine. Off-the-beaten-path high-end boutique hotels
I call this section “Off the beaten path” because these hotels are a little more complicated to get to. For the most part, they are located on small islands and require small charters to access. The good news is the hotel will assist in coordinating your flights for you, the better news is you’ll be so remote you are bound to have the best island experience ever.

Stone’s Throw Away
Tucked away on a hill with amazing views and located on the western part of Nassau, this little hotel is a hidden gem! The hotel is simple and feels like an old home converted into a hotel with minimal rooms and a lovely restaurant serving delicious Indian food. The hotel is located close to other restaurants and has a little beach to enjoy. Get the best of the Nassau life while still feeling off the grid in this little hidden hotel on the hill. Great for couples.
Mega Resorts in the Bahamas
Casinos, nightclubs, golf courses, 5-star restaurants, and waterparks. If this sounds like something you want on your vacation, then these mega resorts are the way to go!
Bahamar
The newer of the two hotels, Bahamar is located on the western part of Nassau and is like the Las Vegas of the Bahamas. With 3 options of hotels, SLS, Rosewood & Grand Hyatt, there is sure to be an option that fits your needs when staying at Bahamar. You will be constantly entertained by their multiple bars, restaurants, nightclubs, pools, and waterpark. There is always something going on at Bahamar and if you are looking to be entertained with nonstop action this is a great choice for you. I would suggest this for families with older kids, bachelorette & bachelor parties, or groups & couples looking to have a good time.
Atlantis
Atlantis is the original mega-resort in Nassau. Located on the famous Paradise Island, Atlantis is an iconic resort in the Bahamas. They have 3 different hotels, The Cove (adults only), The Reef (higher end), and the main Atlantis hotel. Atlantis has a beautiful beach, much better than Bahamar in my opinion. Their water park is epic, and this is a great hotel for families with kids. There are casinos, nightclubs, bars, and restaurants all over the property. In my opinion, I think the restaurants are better at Bahamar, but for families with children, Atlantis can’t be beaten. The waterpark and beach are superior to Bahamar.

All-inclusive Hotels in the Bahamas
There are a few options for all-inclusive hotels in The Bahamas, however, this is the only one I would recommend personally as it is a unique experience and will be an amazing choice for all-inclusive.
Fowl Cay
Fowl Cay is located just a few miles from Staniel Cay, Exuma, and can only be accessed by boat. This is a beautiful property on an island surrounded by crystal blue waters and tons of adventure. Your stay at Fowl Cay will be all-inclusive, from the food to the drinks, to even a power boat! Explore all the beautiful Exuma Cays in your own boat, and then enjoy all the amazing food and drink provided daily. The restaurant/bar overlooks the water and feels as if you are having a family-style dinner. There will never be many other guests with you, this will be a remote and unique experience. Don’t worry about a thing when visiting Fowl Cay! Great for couples or families and you can always pop over to the Staniel Cay Yacht club for a change of pace!
